It was after dark when I pitched my tent at Shobugahama Campground-- I was right on Lake Chuzenjiko, and I hoped to wake to beautiful scenery (ahem, hence the photo of me in the tent grinning in anticipation-- hey, I have to account for that imbecilic grin somehow ;) I wasn't disappointed, there was a brilliant view right outside my tent door! It's still surprising to think that this mountain lake is within 50km of my apartment.

Oh, you were grinning in anticipation for the great view...I thought that was just the effects of the sake. Hey, when in Rome, right? ;) The grin isn't imbecilic at all...the first thing that came to mind was "That's a grin induced by anticipation"...for more sake.
What a gorgeous campground. The beauty was less suprising to me, though, than the fact that you had the balance and presence of mind to pitch a tent loaded on sake.
Disclaimer to all: Eveyone knows that Eby would never me sloshed on sake...anyone who knows Eby recognizes her admirable self-control and wisdom. We all know that she probably wouldn't even touch sake. Eby is more of a tequila girl, everyone knows that.
