Hello to everyone and apologies to those of you wondering about my very existance. . . (I DID warn about chronic lack of updates. . . see Post #1 ;) I have limited internet access for the next few weeks, so it may not be until the beginning of September that I actually post cool photos on the blog (mediocre photos may appear sooner :)
I really like it here so far-- I've met many people and I've already eaten gyoza, fish eggs, sashimi and various other Japanese foods. I've also already been to the Sento, or public baths, which are very nice indeed!! I'm still trying to locate the Fuji Horse Riding Club (at least I now have a map, which may or may not help considering the Japanese streets and roads are unmarked and illogical to a simple westerner's point of view), but I may be able to join the Utsunomiya University riding club (at least I know my way to the uni. . .). I will also be involved in BEST club with the Navigators (Bible - English - Sports - Travel) and I hope to be able to afford 2 Japanese classes per week (I want to learn to speak Japanese well!)
I will probably send an e-mail sometime in the next few weeks with my address and contact information (I move into my apartment on September 1-- would you believe the toilet in my apartment is digitalized and you can program it to heat the seat!??!)
Well, on that note. . . I hope everyone is well and I hope to have photos for you soon.

What an incredible coincidence...just yesterday I was thinking to myself that what I REALLY need is a digital toilet that will heat the seat, flush, and do any necessary paperwork, all while playing my favorite MP3 song. That's amazing...I can't believe you have a digital toilet. The Japanese are just flush (I'm so very sorry) with good ideas. What's next, a digital shower that applies shampoo and conditioner while 2 robotic arms gently massage the scalp? In all seriousness, I'm very glad you arrived safely and have already had some fun. Do you find yourself feeling much taller than you really are? You probably feel like an Elf Princess talking to Hobbits (although your new friends probably are not quite as portly and, hopefully, have less hair on their feet). I'm very proud of your adventurous palate...fish eggs...Sweet Saint Cecilia. Is it like caviar or were the eggs larger?
Glad to hear you've arrived safely. So can you program that toilet seat to lower itself if left up by someone of the male gender?
Pretty cool. We look forward to hearing more about your adventures. Not really similar to fish eggs, but when I was in New Jersey, I sucked crab meat out of crab legs. The crab still had eyes and an antenna. Ugh!
Every time I think of you, I think of Philippa. I think I shall call you that in our correspondence, for you embody the meaning of that word perfectly and you remind me in some ways of that delightful character too. Let me know the status on Jonas.
Love,
Adie
